Party Day

Every so often, a Saturday full of birthday parties comes along.  This past Saturday was one of those days.  We were busy from the time we woke up until well after midnight!

First up was Ryder's Cosmic Bowling Party.  Grant's brother, Eric, and Ryder's mom, Michelle, have been a couple for some time now.  Ryder is new to our family, but already loved!

The kids were so excited to bowl.  They haven't gone bowling for years!  It was so long ago that Lexie can't even remember...that could be because she refused to bowl at the time!

We arrived at the bowling alley, changed into some bowling shoes, and the fun began!

I actually got a chance to bowl, because the big kids helped Lily and, well, funny story...shortly after we arrived, my sister and 3 nephews came to the bowling alley.  They were coming to a different birthday party, and ended up in the lanes next to us!  My sister immediately scooped up Liam, and he slept in her arms the entire time.  Music was blaring, lights were flashing, and he just slept.

Apparently, the ability to sleep through everything is present in each of my children.  Lily was the next victim, and she fell asleep while we posed for a picture.

I wrapped her in my coat and put her under a table, and she slept through the rest of the party!

We all had a great time!  Dylan, Lexie, and Lily had a blast dancing to the music,  talking with their friends, and bowling nonstop. Lily literally bowled until she dropped!  Dylan and Lexie didn't want to leave, but we offered to bring Audrey and Jack home with us between parties!

We had a 2 hour break at home before it was time to leave for party #2!  Party #2 was held at my friend, Steph's house.  Her son, Andrew, had just turned 14, so we were celebrating his birthday with some close friends.  Sadly, I only took a few pictures, but it was a lot of fun!

The boys disappeared to play video games, Lexie looked over the group of toddler girls, the dads went into the basement, and the babies nursed nonstop! Before we knew it, it was well after midnight, and time to go home!

Dylan went home with Jack, and Lexie, Lily, and Liam fell asleep within minutes of leaving Steph's house.

It was a fun-filled, memorable Saturday!

  3. Sometimes I feel like we always have things booked over each other these days - August and December especially get that way for us! And I can relate to the sleeping kids - mine can fall asleep wherever! I feel like it's a blessing - some kids can only seem to sleep at home in their beds and I know that has to be hard on the parents!
